Ghanaian Carved Wood Mask with Bird Crest
Hand-carved in Ghana, 21.5” H × 8.5” W × 5.25” D
A striking West African wall mask with an elongated oval face and a sculptural bird crest. The face is carved in dark wood with a narrow nose, closed almond eyes, and a small mouth, all outlined in pale pigment. A radiating field of black, white, and gray triangles frames the head like a sunburst or ceremonial collar.
Above, a hornbill-like bird rises from a painted collar, its wings spread in blocks of indigo, gold, blush, and cream. The carving is deep and graphic—made to read clearly on a wall.
Hand-carved and painted wood. Made in Ghana. Dimensions: 21.5 × 8.5 × 5.25 in.
Ready to hang. Works as a single statement piece or with other African and modernist wall sculpture.
